MVMT was founded by two young watch-lovers, Jake Kassan and Kramer LaPlante. They started the company with an aim to sell luxury watches that even millennials could afford. The millennial generation is their primary customer base, and it’s true that millennials have helped the brand become the second-most crowd-sourced company. Since its inception, MVMT has sold over 600,000 watches in over 48 countries. In 2018, the company was purchased by the Movado Group for more than $100 million.

The brand is loved for its minimalist and future-friendly designs. They’re also known for affordable pricing. MVMT watches have Japanese Miyota movements that are made in China and Hong Kong. This is one of the very few brands that is proudly made in China, but they’re different from basic, mass-produced Chinese watches.
